The Children’s Tumor Foundation is dedicated to ending NF by driving research, expanding knowledge and accelerating the development of effective treatments for the millions of people living with the condition worldwide.
Why We Fundraise
We fundraise because research is creating real hope for kids like Sam. In fact, Sam will likely begin taking a tumor-shrinking medication that was approved within the last few years—proof that the dollars raised are working. Every donation helps advance new treatments and brings us closer to a future where NF no longer limits what children can dream, do or become.
About Sam
Sam is a happy, energetic, sports-loving seven-year-old with the sweetest soul. He was diagnosed at just three months old with NF1, a genetic condition that causes tumors to grow along the nerves. Sam has tumors in his brainstem, spine and neck, as well as a large plexiform—a network of tumors—on his left arm. He undergoes regular MRIs and eye exams so his care team can closely monitor them. Despite it all, Sam continues to live life at full speed—and inspires us every day.
